Dr Dan: Everton will surely have partners to sponsor new stadium

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton...

Everton are set to have a number of partners that will help in the construction of their new stadium.

That’s according to Dr Dan Plumley who claims that it may not be at the same rate as it previously was, but not something of a major worry for the Toffees.

This development comes after the Daily Mail reported that the club were facing a £300million blackhole after severing ties with Farhad Moshiri.

The club also cut all associations with Russian companies which will have a knockdown effect in the future.

Discussing this issue, the Sheffield Hallam University expert told Goodison News, “In terms of someone who will pay at the same rate, it’s difficult to say.

Because the connection between Usmanov and Moshiri suggests that some of those prices are above market value.

“I think there will be other partners that want to sponsor the stadium, that’s for sure.

“Whether or not the value is what it would’ve been, potentially not.

“Whenever there’s no historical significance, that’s a good way to earn money through naming rights.”

Everton have also been forced into price cutting for the stadium due to the spike in energy and steel prices.

The club have plans to get the stadium built in the next two to three years.

In other Everton news, Manchester United boss Ralf Rangnick has apologised to Everton with regard to his comments about them due to what’s been going on at Chelsea.
