Darren Ambrose: Even Ronaldinho cannot solve Everton problems

Darren Ambrose believes that even Ronaldinho returning will not be able to solve the problems at Everton this season.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Ambrose was discussing the Toffees’ struggles this term with Andy Goldstein.

When asked by the host whether Dele Alli’s arrival on Merseyside has had the opposite impact of Christian Eriksen’s at Brentford, he replied in the negative.

He said, “No I don’t [think it’s had the opposite effect]. I just think something’s wrong at Everton.

“It could be Ronaldinho turning up and I still don’t think it would raise their game at the moment.”

Spot on

The problem at Everton is systemic and it’s not down to just one player or manager.

There have been a series of bad decisions being made over the last few years and nothing really seems to be changing.

There is hope that a new director of football may make things better, but it is too soon to gauge the effects of that.

In terms of Alli, it made very little sense to sign Alli given the fact that he seemed to be losing his way at Tottenham Hotspur.

It will be interesting to see what role, if any, he plays in the relegation six pointer against Burnley.

The Toffees are in no position to lose this game and a win for Burnley could almost see their fate sealed.

In other Everton news, a football finance expert has made a claim on the new Toffees stadium amid a major £300m development in the last week.
