Dele Alli and Dominic Calvert-Lewin among four Everton stars hammered live by Simon Jordan

Simon Jordan was on a roll today as he took apart four Everton first-team players during extensive criticism of the club at every level on talkSPORT.

Whilst also branding manager Frank Lampard “a bloody fool” and suggesting he was unprofessional, he took aim at Farhad Moshiri for having “too much money and not enough sense”, and took down four Toffees players during a major rant against the club.

Dele Alli was in for yet more criticism, but was this time joined by Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Vitalii Mykolenko, and above all Michael Keane.

Speaking on talkSPORT this afternoon (6 April, 12.10pm) he said: “Dele Alli hasn’t lifted a leg for this football club besides the leg that he put in that ridiculous outfit that he climbed onto the pitch with, to give you some indication of where his mind might be.”

On January signing Mykolenko he said: “He’s not good enough.”

On the club’s misfiring main striker he added: “I think he’s a one-season-wonder anyway, Calvert-Lewin.”

And finally, on the hapless centre-back who was sent off at West Ham he declared: “Anyone is better than Keane. Douglas Bader would be better than Michael Keane.”

The criticism of Keane was in reference to the World War II RAF pilot who lost both legs in a plane crash earlier in his career, in remarks sure not to endear Jordan to amputees anywhere.

Something has clearly wound Jordan up badly about the club, because he was launching broadsides against anyone who came up.

He even found time to call former director of football Marcel Brands a “poseur” in a striking example of the pot calling the kettle black.

None of the players he singled out have covered themselves in glory of late, it has to be said.

It could be argued that there are mitigating circumstances, in that Dele was short of football and coming from a difficult situation at Tottenham.

Calvert-Lewin has had injury problems this year, and Ukrainian Mykolenko is grappling with the Russian invasion of his homeland while playing in a new country.

Having said that, there aren’t many people at the club who are completely blameless for the current situation.

A without a couple of wins, preferably starting tonight at Turf Moor, the assessments aren’t going to get much better.
