Don Hutchison reacts to Everton defending in 3-2 defeat v Burnley

Everton suffered yet another defeat away from home as they lost 3-2 against Burnley in a crucial Premier League clash at Turf Moor.

The Toffees still find themselves one point and a place above the drop zone, and there is now a genuine fear that they might get relegated if the situation doesn’t improve.

Everton started the game poorly after conceding a goal from a set piece that sparked a strong reaction from former Toffees player, Don Hutchison on Twitter.

Hutchison wrote on Twitter: “FFS. A side foot finish inside the 6 yard box from a corner. Shambolic defending!”

Horrible

It was a poor goal to concede.

Burnley had gone four games without a goal, but the Clarets took an early lead from a corner which was won by ex-Everton man Aaron Lennon.

Maxwell Cornet whipped in and Everton’s defence stood watching till it fell to Nathan Collins who fired home from close range. That too with a side-foot finish!

Richarlison scored twice in the first half, both from penalties, to give a 2-1 lead at the break, but individual errors coupled with poor tactics meant Everton lost yet another game away from home.

The Toffees are really staring at relegation and once fail to see how Frank Lampard is going to turn it around from here.

There is no confidence in the team. There is no belief in the team. The defence is shambolic at the moment, and there’s no leader in the side who can take responsibility.

The fans deserve better than this.
