Everton: ‘Massive shock’ for Frank Lampard to be sacked after Burnley defeat
It would be a “massive shock” if Everton opted to sack Frank Lampard, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.
Everton let slip of a 2-1 lead to lose 3-2 to Premier League relegation rivals Burnley on Wednesday night, meaning they’re not just one point clear of the bottom three with nine games remaining.
Lampard replaced Rafa Benitez as manager in January but the former Chelsea and Derby boss now finds himself under increased pressure to turn things around at Goodison Park.

However, Everton-mad journalist Brown doesn’t feel as though chopping and changing one manager once again this term will be any good for the Blues.
“I don’t think there would be any point in Everton making another change this season,” Brown told GiveMeSport.
“It would be a massive shock if they were to go through another manager.”

Time to go?
Lampard’s done nothing for this football club since his arrival in January.
His signings of Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek have proven to be massive flops so far with the ex-Chelsea man also failing to pull the Toffees away from the Premier League’s relegation zone.
By the end of the weekend, we could easily be in the bottom three as Everton play Manchester United, Burnley play Norwich and Watford face Leeds.
We feel as though the calls for Lampard to be sacked have been rather quiet from Evertonians in the wake of their club’s crisis form.
Is that just because some fans wanted him in charge so badly?
Did Evertonians want Lampard simply because he wasn’t Vitor Pereira and wasn’t Rafa Benitez?
And is that why so many Evertonians refuse to see what’s right in front of them – that this manager hasn’t got what it takes to keep this club in the Premier League?
We don’t like the continual firing and hiring of managers but Lampard was never a good appointment.
Everton might as well have appointed Pereira at this point.
