Frank Lampard is done at Everton as woeful 3-2 defeat v Burnley raises Premier League relegation worries
Since hiring Frank Lampard, Everton have won six out of 27 points available and slipped deep into crisis mode in the Premier League.
After Wednesday’s 3-2 defeat to Burnley at Turf Moor, the Blues have found themselves just one point clear of the Premier League’s relegation zone with nine matches left to play.
And in those nine matches, the Merseysiders still need to play Manchester United, Leicester twice, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal.

While we have games in hand on the likes of Leeds, that counts for nothing when the idea of winning a single match seems laughable and teams below you have easier fixtures on the horizon.
For example, this weekend sees Burnley take on Norwich and Watford taken on Leeds as Everton welcome Manchester United to Old Trafford.
We’ll be shocked if we’re not a bottom-three club by this time these upcoming league fixtures are done with.
And that is why Lampard is done at Everton.

Let’s face it, the appointment of the former Chelsea and Derby manager has been an absolute embarrassment.
Our search for Carlo Ancelotti’s replacement was a joke with ex-Liverpool man Rafa Benitez being handed the job.
And then after Benitez was predictably sacked because he failed to win over the fans and get a tune out of a squad he didn’t have a chance to improve, Lampard was brought.
Lampard’s signings of Dele Alli and Donny van de Beek have had absolutely no impact while the manager’s tactics have been tired, predictable and yielded next to no points.
If Lampard stays, we’re going down.

We don’t want to admit this but there are managers out there who’ll be better equipped at keeping the Toffees in the Premier League than Lampard.
We know this isn’t Lampard’s fault but he was never the right appointment for the job and this mess still belongs to Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright and co.
But the best thing they can do right now is make an instant change.
