West Ham enter race to sign Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford

West Ham have reportedly entered the race to sign Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in the summer.

According to Claret and Hugh, the Hammers are keeping tabs on the England international amid the Toffees’ relegation battles.

Should they fail to finish 17th or higher, Pickford is expected to leave for a Premier League club as it will boost his chances of being England’s number one as this is a World Cup year.

Alphonse Areola is understood to be considering his options which makes it imperative for Europa League quarter-finalists West Ham to sign a new keeper this summer.

Catastrophe

Relegation is going to make things increasingly difficult for the Toffees.

They already had financial issues with Premier League revenues and once that’s taken away, things will get messy.

A number of their players also will not be affordable in the Championship and they could require a complete rebuild if things go south.

Along with Pickford, players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison may also consider leaving the club in the summer.

If the club don’t think that Lampard is the right man for the job, then it may be time to part ways with him and get someone new quickly or give the job to Duncan Ferguson until the end of the season.
