View: Marcel Brands will be crying with laughter over Everton signing the likes of Dele Alli
Marcel Brands will be one of those likely watching developments at Everton simply laughing right now.
The Dutchman left Goodison Park in early December after years of overseeing transfer business for the Toffees.
Many had been pointing the finger at Brands for numerous deals, with Farhad Moshiri’s influence overlooked after many failed transfers.

Even after Brands left though, things don’t appear to have changed.
January was a real chance to bring in some brilliant signings, but let’s be honest, they simply haven’t worked out yet again.
Nathan Patterson and Vitalii Mykolenko can be seen as bright options for the future, but we need players who are ready for the fight now to protect us from relegation.
Donny Van de Beek hasn’t been a dreadful addition on loan from Manchester United, but he hasn’t set the world alight.
Now down to the embarrassing additions, Dele Alli and Anwar El Ghazi.

What on earth.
These two may be the worst signings ever made in the Premier League.
Alli arrived on a free and will require a fee should he hit a certain appearance milestone, but that is never going to happen based on the fact that Frank Lampard simply won’t play him.
As for El Ghazi, this is the most pointless addition ever made in the world of football, with the winger only playing 11 minutes of football in just over three months.
Wow, that is dreadful.
Brands took his fair share of criticism during his time at Goodison Park, and now he will simply be laughing looking in from the outside at how bad things continue to be in this department.
