Cristiano Ronaldo apologises to fan after Manchester United loss v Everton
Cristiano Ronaldo has taken to Instagram to apologise to a fan after Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat against Everton.
The Red Devils were understood to be looking into claims that the Portuguese star knocked a phone out of the hands of a Toffees fan in the aftermath of the game. [Daily Mail]
Ronaldo was understood to be furious and appeared to take his anger out on a fan.
He has finally broken his silence, and written, “It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing.
“Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game.
“I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship.”
Respect
There was a video that showed him lowering his hand to knock the phone out of the fan’s hand.
However, he’s chosen to address that issue and it takes a lot for someone at that level to apologise for their actions.

We are not condoning his behaviour, but players may choose not to address such issues.
This could be his representatives putting a PR spin on it, but it was needed to be done.
Hopefully, this should settle this issue and the lucky fan would now have the experience of watching a live game at Old Trafford.
