Paul Merson: Everton fans know it is cup final v Manchester United, cut out mistakes and they win
Paul Merson has insisted that Everton fans are going into the clash with Manchester United knowing it is a cup final.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that the reports of Erik Ten Haag coming into Old Trafford could lead to “disaster.”
Merson admitted that Everton can take motivation from the Red Devils being all over the place and not knowing who their manager will be.

Writing in his column for the Daily Star on Friday [08 April], Merson shared what the Toffees must do this afternoon.
“I think they will lose to Everton this weekend,” he wrote. “I watch Everton and every now and then they play alright. They just haven’t got 90 minutes in them.
“They play great for 20 minutes then they drift in and out of the game. But I think they beat Manchester United. I do. The fans know this is a cup final, and I think if the players turn up in this game and have a right go and play at a good tempo, they win.
“They’ve got to cut out the mistakes. But I’ve got a feeling they can win this game. Richarlison scored twice against Burnley and he was getting in good positions and causing problems. United are all over the place.”

Cup final.
Wow, this is the start of our biggest run of fixtures in years.
If Manchester United appointing a new manager can be seen as a disaster, we don’t know what word can be used to describe the predicament at Everton.
Dropping into the Championship would be 100 times the level of the disaster of Ten Haag potentially arriving, and that is being generous.
You never know which Manchester United are going to turn up in the Premier League, so if the Toffees start bright this afternoon and get the fans on board, they could crumble.
Lampard will have got stuck into his players this week with futures literally on the line, and winning this game could kickstart something special.
It would be the most Everton thing ever to lose at Burnley and then smash Manchester United days later, we have everything crossed that happens.
