Donny van de Beek set for Everton farewell after Manchester United development, he’ll be Old Trafford star
Donny van de Beek will surely bid farewell to Everton in the coming weeks after it was reported Manchester United are closing in on hiring Erik ten Hag as their new manager.
Yesterday (12 April), The Athletic journalist David Ornstein reported that Man United have “reached an agreement in principle” for ten Hag to become their next manager.
It is understood that the 52-year-old has verbally agreed to end his five-year stint at Ajax to manage Man United from the summer onwards.

Ornstein adds that Ajax are yet to agree a deal with Man United and no announcement will be made about ten Hag’s move to Old Trafford until after 17 April.
There’s a good chance this will have a major impact on van de Beek’s future at Everton because Manchester United, the midfielder’s parent club, will be managed by the man who nurtured him at Ajax.
Van de Beek was vital in Ajax’s run to the Champions League semi-finals in 2018/19 and his form that season no doubt played a big role in United spending £35million on him a year later.

Unfortunately for van de Beek, he was massively under-used at Old Trafford and mainly found himself warming the bench despite his immense talent.
And a loan move to Goodison in January hasn’t worked out too with the Netherlands international injured and starting just five Premier League games.
But with ten Hag set to take charge at Man United, you would imagine that there’d be a role for £108,000-a-week ace [De Telegraaf] van de Beek there with his former manager.
It’ll be a shame for him to leave Goodison Park at the end of his loan spell but that looks the likeliest of outcomes right now.
