Frank Lampard shares what he did with Everton players to spark victory
Frank Lampard has insisted his positive treatment of the Everton players was the defining factor in the Blues’ win over Manchester United.
The Toffees’ season went from bad to worse when Sean Dyche’s side completed their 3-2 comeback at Turf Moor last week.
When asked how he got a response from his players, after the 1-0 win against the Red Devils at Goodison Park he told Everton: “By being positive.

“That’s my job. I don’t know of any job where you can hammer your employees or colleagues and it works.
“My job was to lift the lads, but they are good lads. The reality is these boys do want to work. They want the best and they want to fight for this Club and I think the fans saw that.
“When this place [Goodison Park] comes together when the players fight like they did, and the fans were supportive and loud as they were… The performance levels have been really strong. We’ve won five out of seven here. I’m very happy but the perspective is we need more of this.
“It’s a significant result in that it is three points, but we need more. There are challenges are to come.”
Promising
Thankfully, Lampard has understood these Everton players need an arm around them.
There has been a couple of occasions where he has come at the players hoping to get a response from them but it hasn’t worked.

It seems as if none of them has a strong enough mentality to deal with any form of criticism or pressure which is completely embarrassing for a Premier League footballer.
Whatever the former Chelsea boss did in the build-up to the united clash, he needs to remember and repeat over and over because it obviously worked.
Of course, the Goodison crowd played a huge part in the victory with the Toffees kicking into gear every time they play at home but Lampard must try and pin the success to something for future reference.
The Blues looked down and out after the Burnley horror show but they now have a fighting chance again after the weekends’ action – with Norwich doing them a huge favour against the Clarets.
It has been said time and time again to little effect but hopefully, the Toffees can build a little bit of momentum after what was a massive win.
