Ex-Everton youngster Mohamed Ali-Cho linked for £20m move to Liverpool
Everton ex-forward Mohamed Ali-Cho is being eyed up by Liverpool to sign in the summer according to the latest transfer rumours.
As relayed by The Liverpool Echo, RMC Sport say that the current Angers striker is rated as a potential club record sale, exceeding the £20 million raised with Jeff Reine-Adelaide’s departure to Lyon.
The youngster has been linked with a whole host of European clubs, signing his first professional in 2020 at 16-years-old and since making 44 senior league appearances, netting twice in Ligue 1 this season.
RMC Sport say Angers are yet to receive any concrete offers but are bracing themselves for a tug of war over a player who they only have contracted until June 2023.
Bad Call
These latest developments surrounding a promising former Everton youngster are yet another damning reflection on the mismanagement of the club from up in the boardroom.
Ali-Cho rejected the chance to stay with the Toffees in 2020 and has since flourished in his homeland, being the second youngest player on a professional deal at his time of signing with Angers only behind Eduardo Camavinga, now of Real Madrid.
He now seems set to sign for one of Europe’s top sides, whilst Everton still struggle to find a reliable back up for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who himself hasn’t found any sort of form since his comeback from injury.
A return to English shores for the 18-year-old across town at bitter rivals Liverpool would be a further kick in the teeth on the back of poor decision-making, but it wouldn’t be the first instance where Everton have made mistakes with their transfer policy.
It seems as though the consequences of years of naive management of the club are slowly starting to creep up on the Toffees.
In other Everton News, Newcastle seem to be winning the race against the Toffees to sign this star midfielder.
