Big boost for Lampard as Everton duo likely to return v Leicester City

Frank Lampard is hoping to get back two of his key players ahead of Everton versus Leicester City.

The Toffees will face the Foxes next Wednesday (20 April), and they have got a nice long break to prepare themselves properly.

According to Liverpool World, the Toffees are likely to welcome back Yerry Mina and Donny Van de Beek for this game.

Van de Beek missed the last three games for the Toffees with a small grade thigh injury but he is set to return to action next week.

Likewise, Yerry Mina appears to have returned to full fitness and has participated in a full training session already.

Getting the duo back is a massive boost for the Toffees.

Mina is a conundrum for Frank Lampard, but he needs him badly. The Colombian defender is a leader at the back – a solid defender who leads by example.

He hardly makes mistakes and gets the best out of other defenders as well.

The Toffees have struggled horribly at the back, with individual errors having cost them precious points.

If fit, Lampard shouldn’t hesitate to put Mina into the starting line-up. Ben Godfrey should play alongside him.

Likewise, the return of Van de Beek serves as a massive boost for the club as well. The Dutchman brings poise and steel in midfield.

His presence will give Lampard more options. Fabian Delph was superb in the last match against Manchester United, and it remains to be seen if Delph, Van de Beek and Allan can form a solid midfield trio.

Lampard is already missing the likes of Andros Townsend, Tom Davis and Nathan Patterson, but getting the duo back would be a massive boost for the club ahead of their crucial Premier League game next week.
