Ellis Simms goal for Hearts proves he could be ready for Everton first team
Everton loanee Ellis Simms has proven that he can stand out in big games with an important goal for Hearts against Hibs on Saturday.
There was a lot riding on the game as it was a rivalry as well as a cup final and Simms ended up being the Man of the Match.
Apart from the goal, he had a sensational game and it has been a loan spell that’s worked out wonderfully for him.
Football Past and Present, who are known to share clips from games, wrote via their Twitter account, “Simms with a thunderbolt. Wow. Hearts 1 v 0 Hibs.”
Simms has done exceptionally well on loan this season and has proven to be a reliable player for Hearts in the SPFL.
He’s adapted perfectly to the pace of the league and while the English top flight will be a different challenge, he could be handed a chance next season.
Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have both been linked with the exit door and it seems likely that at least one of them will be on their way out at the end of the season.

Hopefully, this would mean Simms given an opportunity to play as the backup striker and the 21-year-old could fight his way into the team like Anthony Gordon did this season.
Few expected Gordon to be the player of the season this term and Simms could look at him as an example and follow suit.
