Everton points deduction: Journalist shares Farhad Moshiri stance on potential Premier League blow
Everton officials remain confident they can avoid a Premier League points deduction, according to The Sunday Mirror.
The newspaper reported via their print edition today [17 April, page 72] that senior figures at Goodison Park are “confident they can prove the pandemic to be the main cause of the large losses contained with those latest financial results”.
It is understood that with the club not in action this weekend, “the mood around Finch Farm has lifted in the last seven days” after the win over Manchester United last weekend moved the Toffees four points clear of the relegation zone.

On March 29, The Mirror reported how the Blues had suffered losses of £120.9million last season.
Crazy figures
Everton have been an absolute mess both on the pitch and off it in recent years with Farhad Moshiri’s overspending doing more harm than good.
It looks as though the Iranian businessman will be staying put at Goodison Park but he cannot continue to be so carefree with money at the club.
Gone are the days of splashing the cash on big signings, big contracts and selling players for a loss.

There needs to be way more thought going into Everton’s player trading because it has been all over the place for years.
While the pandemic will have had an impact on Everton’s finances, it doesn’t explain why the figures have been bad for the last few years.
We should avoid relegation from the Premier League after the weird developments at Burnley in the last few days but don’t rule out anything just yet because our fixtures are still very tough.
In other Everton news, Burnley have been tipped to hire Sam Allardyce by Richard Keys to “send Everton down”.
