Sky pundit expects major Everton exits, wants Farhad Moshiri answers amid recent accusations

We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…

Farhad Moshiri has to be held responsible for the fact that Everton are currently battling relegation after spending so much money says Kevin Campbell.

The owner has sanctioned major outlays throughout most of his time in charge of the club, but with very little in the way of returns on the pitch it suggests a highly flawed transfer policy.

Simon Jordan recently (7 April) pointed the finger directly at the billionaire for the current struggles at Goodison Park, accusing him of “destabilising” the club by appointing and firing Rafael Benitez, and Sky Sports pundit Campbell doesn’t disagree.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News he said: “Well it has to doesn’t it [the buck stops with him], you’re the money man, you’re the owner. You say who comes and who doesn’t at the end of the day, it’s your money.

“Yeah I think the buck stops with Moshiri to a point. I think there’s a lot of people in there who need to look in the mirror because what has the plan been?

“Spending all this money, over half a billion, and you’re fighting relegation?! No! What’s the plan? What has the plan been?

“They say you need two players for every position. But there’s more probably that are going to be outgoing than ever come the summer.

“So there’s been no plan at Everton, they’ve just bought players willy nilly, or who someone fancies, bought them.”

The Toffees shouldn’t be struggling to maintain Premier League status having spent so much, and whether Frank Lampard is successful in doing that or not, there will surely be plenty leaving.

Should disaster strike and relegation be confirmed any number of big earners will be heading for the exit door.

But the squad is bloated, and holds too many who haven’t justified their place or wages on a regular basis, so there is surely significant change on the horizon.

In other Everton news, Campbell agreed that he would also leave the club if he had been in the situation he suspects of one former Toffees figure.
