Everton want to sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney

Everton are reportedly keeping an eye on Brentford striker Ivan Toney amid his stellar Premier League campaign.

According to 90Min, the Englishman is happy in London and is keen on signing a new deal at the club.

However, if the Bees do end up cashing in, they will demand a fee in excess of £50million as they managed to sell Ollie Watkins for £30million back when they were in the Championship.

Tough one

The 25-year-old does not seem too keen on leaving the Brentford Community Stadium.

Having only joined in the 2020 summer, he’s found himself at home in the capital.

He’s already loved by the fans and Thomas Frank has built his team around him.

Had Brentford been fighting relegation or were set to play in the Championship game, Toney would have possibly considered a switch to another Premier League club.

The other thing is that the Toffees may not be able to afford his transfer fee due to their FFP issues.

They will have to make that kind of money from either Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Richarlison’s sale this summer and it remains to be seen if they go down that route.

Newcastle, West Ham and Arsenal are also keen on the striker labelled “phenomenal” by Opta Joe.

In other Everton news, a football finance expert has made a claim on the new Toffees stadium amid a major £300m development in the last week.
