Brendan Rodgers delivers verdict on Everton spending and Frank Lampard

Brendan Rodgers has suggested that Everton boss Frank Lampard will do really well as a manager.

The Foxes boss has also shared his view on the “well-documented” money being spent by the Toffees on players.

He feels that it’s frustrating for the fans as the Toffees have got loads of quality players in their ranks, while the results haven’t gone their way.

“It’s well-documented there’s a lot of money been spent — a lot of money — but if it doesn’t all join up, then it doesn’t really matter,” said Rodgers, as quoted by Morning Star.

“They’ve got good players who go out and work hard and make it difficult and they’ve got players with quality, so it’s probably frustrating for the supporters, I’m sure, because it’s a huge club and the investment’s been huge and they probably wanted better.

“I think Frank Lampard will do really well as a manager. He’s gone in there with a really good team of coaches, but of course that overall vision of the club is so, so important.”

Big game

This is a massive game for the Toffees, and they should aim for all three points.

Norwich City and Watford are more likely to be relegated but the Toffees are not safe yet, along with Burnley and Leeds United.

The away form has been poor but they have done well at home this season.

The Toffees are heading into this game on the back of a 1-0 victory against Manchester United, and they have got over ten days of rest since their last game.

Lampard surely has worked about tactics, strength and weakness of the opposition closely, while the players have got the much-needed break ahead of the game.

Also, the Toffees are set to welcome back Yerry Mina to the side after the Colombian has returned to full fitness. He is in contention to start.

Another player who could also return to the starting line-up is Donny van de Beek who has been out of action since March.
