Ellis Simms wants agent to hold Everton crunch talks as he drops admission about Goodison future
Ellis Simms wants to hold talks with Everton in the summer as he admits he’d be open to extending his loan spell at Hearts.
Simms, 21, has been on fire since joining the Edinburgh club in January, scoring five goals in 15 appearances and netting against bitter rivals Hibernian in the Scottish Cup semi-finals at the weekend.
Edinburgh News reports that while Hearts will net “several million pounds” by qualifying for Europe this season, they’re unlikely to be able to afford a permanent deal for striker Simms so another loan deal is more realistic.

And it seems to be something that the young Everton forward is keen on exploring too.
“It’s about the pathway for me. I would be open to it, definitely,” he told the Edinburgh News. “It’s out of my hands. I’m owned by Everton so it’s up to them where my next step is.
“I’ve enjoyed my time here, I’ve loved it. I’m here to play games and win matches. I will have to sit down with the Everton staff and my agent. It’s not entirely down to me, but so far I have enjoyed every minute here at Hearts.”

Let him go?
Simms is 21-years-old and will no doubt be desperate for increased first-team opportunities.
Right now, he wouldn’t break into Frank Lampard’s senior squad with Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, Salomon Rondon and potentially Cenk Tosun above him in the pecking order.
However, that could change in the summer with the likes of Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison linked with moves away regardless of whether or not the Toffees are relegated.
And, if the Blues do go down, Simms would more than likely be well-suited to a season in the Championship.
It’s hard to say at this stage what the best move for Simms would be but we can see why extending his loan spell at Tynecastle would be an attractive proposition due to his game-time there and the fact they’re headed for a European tour next season.
Hearts boss Robbie Neilson is also a massive fan of Simms.
He’s been quoted by BBC Sport as saying he’d “100 per cent” want a new loan deal for Simms, who’s “been outstanding” in Scotland since January.
Everton’s summer transfer window will be a big one and Simms’ future is no doubt going to be one of the ongoing stories.
Will he be loaned out? Will he be sold? Or will he be incorporated into the senior squad at Goodison?
We’ll have to wait and see.
