Everton set for a near-impossible task to keep out rivals Liverpool in the derby
Everton fans won’t have been given any encouragement ahead of the Merseyside derby following Liverpool’s dismantling of Manchester United last night.
The Toffees arch-rivals took apart another bitter opponent of their own at Anfield on Tuesday night, Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah both scoring in the first half as they completely dominated the Red Devils.
Everton’s cross-city foes have scored at least twice in every one of their fixtures so far in April which will send alarm bells ringing in the head of any Evertonian given their shaky defensive record.

It comes after a fixture against Leicester City at Goodison where Frank Lampard will be desperate to pick up some points given his side’s shocking record away from home this season, having picked up crucial back-to-back wins in the last two played on home soil.
With even the most stout supporter probably admitting they need a miracle to claim anything at Anfield, it’s vital they come away from the Leicester game with at least something to show
One positive ahead of the titanic clash is the return to fitness of duo Yerry Mina and Donny van de Beek, with both in contention to return to Lampard’s squad.

They could help to add some much-needed stability to the Toffee’s side, although it might be a risk to play them if they aren’t fully fit against such an intense opponent.
Whoever plays, after their convincing display on Tuesday night, it looks like a gargantuan task is coming up for Lampard and his beleaguered men.
In other Everton news, Lampard was surprisingly blasé about the threat of this Leicester ace ahead of their upcoming clash.
