Ray Parlour says Frank Lampard must get 7pts for Everton in ‘vital’ games

Ray Parlour says Goodison Park must be ‘rocking’ to help Everton secure points in the run-in, naming three games that are ‘vital’ for the club.

The Toffees currently sit one point above Burnley with a game in hand in the battle to retain Premier League status for next season.

Parlour, speaking on talkSPORT’s breakfast show [April 22, 8:10], believes that the three games against Watford, Brentford and Crystal Palace are ‘vital’ for the club and says Frank Lampard must get seven points from those games.

“You look at the fixtures Everton have got in May. They start obviously with Chelsea after Liverpool. Then they’ve got Leicester away, then these three games are going to be vital for Frank. Watford away, Brentford at home and then Crystal Palace at home. They’ll be vital.

“Goodison Park has to be rocking, it has to be.. the fans really know how to get behind the team.

“You never know with Chelsea do ya? Who would’ve thought Arsenal could score four against Chelsea? I don’t know about that. They’re at home at Goodison again against Chelsea so the fans can play their part, get behind the team and you never know which Chelsea team will turn up.

“I look at Watford, Brentford and Palace. Frank needs to get seven points from them games.”

Everton’s run-in is incredibly tough, we know that, but there are three games within that run that fans will deem as winnable and that means the team must deliver.

Currently the relegation situation is in their own hands. If they do their jobs it doesn’t matter what Burnley do or don’t do, because they’re ahead in the race for survival.

But that can quickly change in just one round of fixtures and with the current form of Burnley, that could even happen as quickly as this weekend.

Lampard needs as many points as possible, but even if Everton are at their best it would be difficult for them to win at Anfield or beat Chelsea, while Leicester look like they’re back near their best too.

The games against those three teams in and around them are vital and with two of them at Goodison, the fans can have a big say on the level of performance and ultimately where the club are playing their football next season.
