Everton ace Anthony Gordon wows BBC pundit with ‘brilliant’ moment v Liverpool
Everton fell to Merseyside derby day defeat at Anfield as Liverpool flexed their substantial muscles in a 2-0 win on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.
Frank Lampard’s men defended resiliently for over an hour but their stubbornness was eventually broken by Andy Robertson with a back-post header before Divock Origi added a second six minutes from time.
It was an overall feisty affair and Anthony Gordon found himself in the thick of the action throughout having been booked for diving while torturing Trent Alexander-Arnold.

BBC pundit Stephen Warnock was particularly loving his display as he consistently ran his opposite number ragged albeit in vain.
“Brilliant run from Anthony Gordon; he’s caused all sorts of problems and been a standout player,” Warnock said.
“Seamus Coleman sprinted across to tell him he’s the best player, he’s tearing Liverpool to pieces and that he needs to carry on.”
Not enough
While he may have caused the useless defender Alexander-Arnold a few issues, the 21-year-old spent far too long trying to win free-kicks rather than looking for a goal.

He could have had more fouls given against him with both the English right-back and Joel Matip giving him a right shove in the back while he was running at full tilt but he was still too busy trying to rattle the home support.
The dive that he was rightfully booked for in the first half was an utter embarrassment and he should be ashamed of himself and even come out to say such on social media after the game, it was truly appalling.
He has to cut that aspect of his game out immediately because he is far too good to be doing things like this and it is beginning to ruin his reputation.
Lampard needs to get him by the scruff of the neck and remind him what football is all about because that was not it.
