Jamie Carragher flies off handle in ‘diabolical’ Everton rant after Anfield loss
Jamie Carragher has emptied both barrels on Everton following their 2-0 defeat against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday [April 24].
Frank Lampard’s side fell to their eighth Premier League away defeat in a row – a club record.
With the Toffees now sitting in 18th place, two points behind Burnley, the Sky Sports pundit has urged the Blues boss to make tactical changes.
He said as per Football Daily: “It is a blueprint away from home, they can’t play like that at Goodison”
“When considering their next opponents Chelsea, they are at home, at Goodison, they can’t really sit back in the position they are in.
“They are not level on points with them [Burnley], they are two points behind so they need to start winning games.
“The home games under Frank [Lampard] have been fine, they don’t need to change too much at home – it’s a tight pitch, they can make it a battle, they can use the crowd.”
He added: “Away from home has been a massive problem, they’ve lost eight on the bounce.
“They have got to be really organised, make it really difficult for the opposition and look to play counter-attacking football away from home, they have to.
“The goals that they’ve conceded away from home, the games that they’ve lost, I mean it’s diabolical actually the away record at Everton.”

Unbelievable.
The fact that Everton are even in the position is a disgrace and so are these players. How can they put in a performance like that once they finally drop into the relegation zone?
Lampard has been crying out for that type of fight ever since he arrived at the club in January and barely any of the players – if any – have shown anything remotely close.
Yesterday was a real scrap, a proper game of football where the Toffees disgruntled one of the best teams in the world at the moment so there is absolutely no excuse for not doing that every game now for the rest of the season.
It is farcical that a club that has spent as much as the Blues have under Farhad Moshiri face a real risk of being relegated.
The fact they could be playing Championship football in a brand new state of the art Bramley-Moore dock stadium is laughable but a great example of everything that has gone wrong in recent years – the decision making by the chiefs at the club has been awful.
Hopefully, Lampard can rescue the team and slowly but surely fix the mess of the squad but during a time of football and financial crisis at the club, all Evertonians can do is pray.
