Michael Ball calls on Everton ace Seamus Coleman for Finch Farm talks
Michael Ball has urged Everton veteran Seamus Coleman to hold a team meeting to work on the team’s togetherness during the Blues’ relegation crisis.
Frank Lampard’s side suffered a 2-0 defeat at Anfield on Sunday [April 24] but their highly spirited performance will give the former Chelsea boss much hope going into the final six games.
Ball insisted that the players need to “give the manager a problem” for all the right reasons as the season comes to a close.

He wrote in his Liverpool Echo column: “Everton’s players need to stand up and be counted. Seamus Coleman is the captain, he should have a good team meeting and say: “Lads, we need to be together.”
“Come the summer, you don’t want to be left thinking: “Could I have played? Could I have done more? Could I have put my body on the line for the badge?” We want everyone fit and fighting for the cause.
“The fans – who I thought were fantastic at Anfield – are going to really get behind the boys for the rest of the season. The players need to be telling Frank that they want to play and give the manager a problem.”
Last chance saloon.
Surely Coleman has already done something like that? That is one of the first things you would do as the captain amid a relegation battle and if he hasn’t, it might be a little bit too late for a togetherness call.

With that being said, the next six games are probably the biggest in the Toffees’ history.
They have never been relegated from the English top-flight and for that to happen to the longest standing team in the country would be disastrous – especially given the money thrown at the team in recent years under Farhad Moshiri.
The fight shown against Liverpool was massively encouraging but not every game from now until the end of the season is going to be a bitter rivalry clash in their noisy neighbour’s backyard.
Those games are so easy to get up for, the challenge will be maintaining it and with every single game being very tough, it is going to be a nervy sprint to the finish line for the Blues.
In other Everton news, a BBC duo have insisted that the Toffees were “better” than Liverpool in the Merseyside derby.
