Everton boss Frank Lampard gives Cenk Tosun contract update
Frank Lampard has admitted that everyone at Everton is aware of Cenk Tosun’s uncertain contract situation at the club ahead of the summer.
The centre-forward’s deal expires at the end of the season after an underwhelming spell at Goodison Park having been loaned out several times.
With only one Premier League appearance to his name this season, the former Chelsea boss shed light on the matter.

He told Liverpool Echo: “Cenk was injured a while ago. He had quite a serious quad injury which has kept him out and he’s just now back onto the training pitch with the physios with the hope that he can be back with us over the next couple of weeks.”
He added: “He is a fantastic professional Cenk, he’s working really hard to get fit.
“His position at the club, contractually, is something we are all aware of so we will see how that one goes.”
Get rid.
Surely Tosun won’t be staying at the club beyond the summer? He has never really got going at Everton and has done nothing to show he deserves a new deal.

Admittedly, he has been injured for most of the season and out on loan with Besiktas but that tells you everything you need to know about the 30-year-old – he isn’t good enough and given his age, that isn’t likely to change.
The Blues can’t afford to keep making the same mistakes in keeping players in the squad who don’t merit it.
His leaving could free up room on the wage bill and vital attention from the boss and his coaches for a player who can make an impact.
There is very little chance of him staying. You would imagine Lampard has a list of players that he has no plans for and Tosun is likely to be quite high on that list as he looks to rebuild the squad.
