Everton news: Pundit blasts Farhad Moshiri and Kia Joorabchian ‘disaster’, takes swipe at ‘pet agent’

Robbie Fowler hasn’t held back in criticising Everton owner Farhad Moshiri for the way he’s relied on Kia Joorabchian for signings.

Joorabchian has had a dangerous influence on signings and managerial appointments at Goodison Park due to his ties with Moshiri.

Fowler feels Moshiri is the main man at fault for Everton’s woes and feels like his and Joorabchian’s meddling in transfers had led to the mismatched squad currently at Goodison.

“I put the blame firmly on the shoulders of the owner, Farhad Moshiri,” said Fowler in his column in the Sunday Mirror today [1 May, page 67].

“People say it’s the board who are the problem.

“But let’s face it, he is the board. He makes all the decisions, he dishes out the money.

“Moshiri is the one who keeps going back to the same agents to sign players… even though the signings have invariably been a disaster. Isn’t that the definition of madness – doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting a different outcome?”

Fowler added: “What is the point of forensic analysis of potential signings, scouring the world to find the right players to fit into a clearly defined system – which should be in place no matter who is in charge – if the owner then goes to his pet agent and signs whoever that agent wants to flog to him for a vast profit?

“Things must change.”

It takes a Kopite…

It says a lot that a former Liverpool player is able to speak more sense about the affairs at Goodison Park than most others.

Fowler is absolutely spot on.

We’ve seen so many fans aiming their anger at Bill Kenwright and while he’s definitely at fault for a lot of bad things at Goodison, the buck stops with Moshiri.

Since he took over as owner, the Blues have been on a downwards spiral.

He’s ignored what directors of football have wanted and what managers have wanted and what the fans have wanted.

Instead, he’s trusted his lackey in Joorabchian over anyone who actually has any knowledge about Everton Football Club.

It’s a disgraceful way to treat your employees and the football club you’re in charge of.

However, the big issue here is that Everton are unlikely to be able to survive if they lose the money that Moshiri can pump into the coffers.

He can’t go – he just needs to fix his act up.

In other Everton news, Stan Collymore has taken a big swipe at this 25-year-old who he suggests is taking the Blues down to the Championship.
