Jordan Pickford’s stunning double save has Andy Hinchcliffe in awe in Everton’s win v Chelsea

Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford left Andy Hinchcliffe stunned after a remarkable double save in the Toffees’ vital win over Chelsea.

Pickford made three back to back to saves including a scramble across his goal line to prevent Cesar Azpilicueta from equalising for Chelsea.

Pundit Andy Hinchcliffe was left stunned by the England man’s save.

Talking on Sky Sports commentary, Hinchcliffe said: “That was an absolutely incredible save, he sprints across his goal line and get’s his hands up quickly.

“They were two stunning saves, they were outstanding.”

Survival hopes

Everton have now picked up ten points from a possible twelve at Goodison Park.

With Brentford and Crystal Palace still to visit Goodison, Everton now look in a good position to be successful in their survival bid.

With Leeds playing Chelsea and Arsenal in their next two matches, Everton could pile the pressure on Jesse Marsch’s side heading into the season’s climax.

Everton have their fans to thank for pulling them over the line against Chelsea.

The Toffees showed a level of grit, fight and determination that we haven’t seen from Frank Lampard’s side too often this season.

However, Leeds will fancy their chances against a Chelsea side who have been inconsistent of late.

As for Everton, one more win in their game in hand will pull them over the dreaded dotted line and plunge Leeds into the relegation zone.

Lampard’s side have their fate in their own hands at present and are not reliant on any other results, as long as it remains that way, they should be favourites to survive.

In other Everton news, Graeme Souness says the Toffees players are “without quality” as he worries for their survival.
