Kevin Campbell thinks survival is in Everton hands after ‘big win’ v Chelsea
Kevin Campbell believes survival is still in the hands of Everton after their ‘big’ win over Chelsea on Sunday, he told Premier League Productions.
The Toffees earned a massive three points with victory over the Blues at Goodison Park, keeping them within touching distance of Burnley and Leeds with a game in hand to play.
Campbell, the former Everton striker, believes that their run-in is just as difficult as their rivals’ and if they can claim a win away at Watford – who have lost 11 home games in a row – then it would be huge for their survival bid.

“Look at Burnley and Leeds’ run-ins, they’re not easy at all,” he said.
“Definitely not easy. But I look at Everton’s and it’s in Everton’s hands. It really is in Everton’s hands. One of those away games Everton have to win. They have to win.
“That’s the one [vs Watford]. We know Leicester is the next one up. Leicester aren’t going great. Leicester are in the semi-finals of Conference League etc so one eye is probably on that.
“Everton need to respond. Big win today. If they can get three points in their next game, that puts them in such a great position.”
Massive
Beating Chelsea was not in the script for many fans, pundits and ex-pros but Frank Lampard’s side proved they’re up for the fight with a great performance.
They got their goal, were solid defensively and managed to keep Chelsea out for a massive clean sheet on their way to three points.

Winning at home hasn’t been the issue though, but away from home Lampard hasn’t picked up a single point since taking over in January and the team are winless on the road since August.
That must change if they’re to earn survival with Burnley in excellent form and Leeds much improved since Jesse Marsch’s arrival back in February.
Winning the home games may be enough, but it’s not something they should be relying on and instead must focus on getting a big win on the road to really separate themselves from the pack in this run-in.
