Richard Keys raves about ‘man of the match’ Jordan Pickford as Everton win v Chelsea
Richard Keys hailed Jordan Pickford after the Everton goalkeeper starred in a 1-0 win over Chelsea at Goodison Park on Sunday.
Although the Toffees are still in the Premier League’s relegation zone, they’re in a very good position to stay up with safety in their hands due to a game in hand.
Without Pickford’s incredible save from Cesar Azpilicueta, things could have gone a lot differently on Sunday and Keys says the goalkeeper was the man of the match.

“Well, there’s your man of the match,” said Keys as footage of Pickford celebrating the win was shown on beIN SPORTS’ official Twitter account on 1 May.
“Richarlison’s goal settled it but my goodness, Jordan Pickford came up with two stunning saves in the second half that meant the goal [Richarlison] had scored delivered three massive points for Everton. Massive points for Everton.
“And they’re back in touching distance of the two in front of them. Leeds and Burnley, who have 34 each and they’ve got a game in hand.”
Sensational
If Everton stay up, that save by Pickford will go down in this club’s history.
We have no idea how he managed to get across the goal so quickly.
Mason Mount’s effort hit the past to Pickford’s right and, naturally, the goalkeeper found himself over there to try and save it.
But the ball then went back across the goal, hit the other post and then fell into the path of Azpilicueta.
Everyones’ hearts were in their mouths at Goodison Park.
There was a moment of silence as everyone gasped in anticipation about what was to happen next.
And then, somehow, Pickford was back there across the other side of the goal keeping the ball out of the net.
Incredible. What a moment.
It wasn’t the only top-class save he made too.
