Danny Murphy backs Everton & Frank Lampard after Simon Jordan view
Danny Murphy has fired back at Simon Jordan by rubbishing claims that the win against Chelsea was thanks to the Everton fans and not Frank Lampard.
Blues fans created a scintillating atmosphere in and around the ground all afternoon as Richarlison’s strike saw the Merseysiders beat the European champions 1-0.
Jordan let loose on the Toffees insisting that they don’t deserve to stay up whilst downplaying Lampard’s role in the win.

To which Murphy fired back, as per talkSPORT: “Of course, the fans helped, but it was also the way he set them up and the personnel he picked.
“We’ve criticised his selection of players who keep making mistakes. He picked a certain type of player on Sunday.
“They had more legs, more energy. He played Iwobi at right-wing-back, he matched Chelsea’s three at the back. So there is credit there for Frank.
“The fans don’t kick a ball, although they were great.”
Breath-taking.
Spot on from Murphy. Of course, the atmosphere and breathtaking energy created by the fans would have helped.

The coach greet that the Everton players were met with on their arrival to Goodison Park on Sunday was crazy.
Everyone knows that Evertonians have that passion but they rarely show it. Admittedly the team have been awful for so, so long now but it hasn’t always been this bad.
Why wait until the club are on the brink of their first relegation in history to pull that out of the bag? Just imagine where the Blues could be if they had the boost from that support week in and week out.
Last weekend’s result was a credit to every single person involved – the fans, the players and Lampard. Hopefully, they can now build on this momentum and finish the job.
In other Everton news, Jordan goes berserk in an “absolutely crap” Everton rant – saying that they “don’t deserve to stay up“.
