Richard Keys explodes at Everton incident that could cost Liverpool Premier League title

Richard Keys has exploded at the use of VAR in the Premier League this season, using Everton as the perfect example.

The technology failed to give the Toffees a penalty in their defeat against Manchester City after a clear handball which could have rescued a valuable point.

Keys also reminded everyone that Everton getting a point there would have seen Liverpool sitting in top spot in the Premier League right now.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, Keys exploded at the major incident that happened only months ago.

“I guess it’s only right that we should get clubs ready for what’s to come in the Premier League – but does anyone believe VAR has ended costly ref mistakes?” he said.

“Ask Everton. And Liverpool – who’d be top by a point if City had been held at Goodison. That mistake could yet cost millions.”

Explosive.

We don’t care about Liverpool, but everything else is bang on.

If we had picked up that point against Manchester City, we’d still technically be in the relegation zone, but it would have given this squad a huge confidence boost for the games that followed.

Mike Riley and the PGMOL fired an apology to the Toffees and Frank Lampard, but that meant nothing in the end.

It could also end up costing Everton millions and the windfalls of the Premier League should we not stay in the division.

Dropping down to the Championship by one point would leave us all in rage, and we just hope that we can get the job of survival done way before that.

There are five games to go in what promises to be a huge whirlwind end to the season in the race with Leeds United and Burnley.

Let’s hope this doesn’t come back to haunt us.
