Alan Shearer gushes over ‘magnificent’ Everton ace Jordan Pickford
Alan Shearer has been left in awe of “magnificent” Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford following his performance against Leicester City on Sunday [May 8].
The England international’s upward spike in form has been crucial in dragging the Blues out of the Premier League’s relegation zone.
Frank Lampard’s side now sits in 16th, one point above Burnley and Leeds with a game in hand.

Shearer told Match of the Day 2: “They have needed big performances and they have certainly got that from a lot of their players – none bigger than Jordan Pickford.
“Again, some of the saves he made today were just outstanding – he’s bright, he’s alert.
“When looking at the save he made to deny Harvey Barnes, he added: This is the best one I think.
“How he manages to turn that around the post, that is a magnificent save.”
Leader.
This Everton team has been crying out for leaders all season long and finally, somebody has stepped up.

Pickford has been on a mission the last few weeks – he is almost single handily carrying them to the finish line.
Make no mistake, overall the team have been a lot better and the fans have been second to none in providing them with excellent support that has led to better results but the stand out performer is the goalkeeper and by quite some distance.
Toffees fans have never seen him in this type of form, at least not in a Blues shirt.
The 28-year-old has come under so much scrutiny since joining the Merseysiders and admittedly, he does have a howler in him but there is certainly a very talented shot-stopper in there.
Hopefully, he can replicate these performances on a more consistent basis because he is showing crazily good levels.
