Bill Kenwright floored by ‘unbelievable’ Everton fans after recent scenes
Bill Kenwright has been left floored by the Everton fans after their “unbelievable” show out against Leicester City on Sunday [May 8].
Frank Lampard’s side finally ended their away from home nightmare with a vital 2-1 win over the Foxes.
The win now puts the Blues one point above Leeds and Burnley with a game in hand which put the travelling fans in pandemonium during and way into the aftermath of the game.
Kenwright told the Liverpool Echo: “To sing for 90 minutes and then continue for a full 20 minutes after the game had ended and every Leicester City fan had left the stadium was incredible. I stood and watched it all at the end and can honestly say I’ve never seen anything like it.”
He said: “No one wants to see their club in a relegation battle, especially not our club, but Evertonians have set a new benchmark in how fans can play a part in that battle.
“During that time Evertonians have risen to a new level of devotion – even by their own standards – with an unbelievable non-stop display of support for their club and their team, not only at Goodison but also at Finch Farm and beyond.”

The fans were excellent yesterday before, during and hours after full-time. They will be absolutely buzzing today after Everton took their biggest step to Premier League safety yet.
They finally shirked their away day hoodoo and there was no better time to do it. Many have suggested the Toffees’ away form will be the biggest issue in the relegation dog fight but the win at the King Power slams that door shut.
Hopefully, Lampard’s side can put their away form crisis behind them from now until the end of the season because they might need some more points on the road before the season is over.
The players have been excellent but so much credit needs to be given to the supporters. The Evertonians have been given the players a vital boost with their unwavering support over the last couple of weeks – without it, the last two results wouldn’t have been possible.
