Brendon Rogers highlights star performer for Everton in victory against Leicester City
Leicester City manager Brendan Rogers was full of praise for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford after his stunning performance on Sunday afternoon.
The 28-year-old was sensational in the Toffees’ crucial victory against the Foxes where he made some crucial saves.
Talking to Leicester’s official website after the match, Rogers admitted that the home team failed to break down the defence of Frank Lampard’s men, largely because of Pickford

“Especially at 2-1, with the final half-hour to go, we just couldn’t break (Everton) down,” he said. “(Pickford) made some great saves. We could have worked him one or two times more, but he’s made two outstanding saves and kept the scoreline as it was.”

Shining bright
Pickford had a lot of doubters before the start of the 2021-22 campaign but he has proved all of them wrong by becoming a star performer for Everton between the sticks.
His important saves proved to be significant as the Toffees secured back-to-back wins to immensely increase their chances of survival in the Premier League.
The Washington-born goalie has been with the club since the start of 2017 when he joined from Sunderland in a deal reportedly worth £25.65 million.
Since then, Pickford has represented his current club in 196 matches in all competitions where he has managed to keep 53 clean sheets.
In the ongoing campaign, he has managed to keep six clean sheets in 32 Premier League matches and conceded 53 goals in the process.
There have been reports regarding the future of Pickford — who has a contract till 2024 — at the club and it will be interesting to see whether Everton will be able to keep their star man beyond the summer of 2022.
