Garth Crooks stunned by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in huge win v Leicester

Garth Crooks was left stunned by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford after the huge 2-1 win against Leicester on Sunday [08 May].

The England international pulled off more “incredible” saves yet again to help the Toffees to consecutive three points.

Everton leapfrogged both Leeds United and Burnley in what could be a huge afternoon at the end of this season.

Writing in his BBC Team of the Week column, Crooks simply could not believe his eyes at the keeper.

“For the second consecutive week Jordan Pickford pulled Everton back from the brink of defeat,” he said.

“The save from Harvey Barnes was quite incredible and the one-handed stop from Nampalys Mendy was almost identical to the save made by Peter Shilton during the England versus Scotland game when Kenny Dalglish hit a scorcher at Wembley.

“That was regarded as a world-class save at the time and provides some indication of the quality of the save by Pickford against Leicester.”

Incredible.

Wow, is this man trying to earn the keys to the city?

If he continues like this, Pickford will have to be honoured by the club for his services given how incredible he has been.

The saves against Chelsea were good, but he’s only gone and topped it one week later with another string of unbelievable actions.

Frank Lampard will be counting his lucky stars to have someone as good as he does in between the sticks making all of the difference.

The fans were also incredible yesterday, and they deserve afternoons such as this for what they do for this club.

Pickford is the driving force pushing us towards safety, and we just hope that he gets a quieter night of action against Watford in midweek.

The keeper deserves it and with another big win on the road, we could secure our safety for yet another year in the Premier League – bring it on.

In other Everton news, one pundit was stunned by what he saw an “unbelievable” Toffee do at the King Power.
