Everton player ratings v Watford: Doucoure woeful, Iwobi shines
Everton took their unbeaten run to three games in a row after managing a 0-0 draw against Watford in the Premier League on Wednesday (11 May).
The Toffees had a great opportunity to pick up three points against a depleted Watford side, but they have to be happy with one point. With Leeds United having lost 3-0 against Chelsea, the point looks valuable in the context of the relegation battle.
Richarlison and Demarai Gray came close to scoring in the second half, but there was very little creativity from the visitors.

Here, Goodison News has rated the players out of 10 for their performances against Watford:
Jordan Pickford – 7
He hardly had to make a proper save in the first half. Watford created very little, and he was not being tested. In the second half, Watford failed to hit a shot on target. It was a quiet night for Pickford.
Mason Holgate – 6
He looked solid in the first half. The centre-back kept it simple, and was good in the air and alert in making challenges. He was very strong in one v one situations, where he used his body well.
Michael Keane – 6
More expressive than Holgate in the first half, but should have done better with his passing. In the second half, gave away a needless free-kick, but luckily Watford couldn’t make the best use of it.
Vitaly Mykolenko – 7
He miscued a half chance inside the box in the first half, but looked dangerous throughout. Eager to join the attack at every possible opportunity while stayed solid at the back as well. He made a fantastic attempt on target towards the end, but managed to hit staright at the keeper.
Alex Iwobi – 9
Played in the right-wing back role, he has been a player re-born under Lampard. An all-round performance in the first half, where he made some intelligent runs. He was a constant threat from the right hand side and produced a brilliant pass for Gray, but he couldn’t hit the target. It was a stunning performance from him, and he is the MOTM for the Toffees.
Seamus Coleman – 6
The veteran defender made sure that the defence remain tight throughout. He was unlucky to pick up a yellow card for a foul on Dan Gosling.
Fabian Delph – 7
He was brilliant in the first half. The veteran midfielder remained busy throughout and was solid with his distribution. He covered a lot of ground as well. Some of his passing in the second half was top drawer and made a superb sliding neat tackle.

Abdoulaye Doucoure – 4
He was one of the poor performers out there in the first half. There was little movement from him, and it didn’t improve in the second half. Anonymous throughout the match, with very little to show for. When he got into the box, he couldn’t make anything out of it. A stinker of a performance, really.
Richarlison – 7
The Brazilian didn’t get enough service in the first half. He came close to scoring in the second half but his effort was saved by Ben Foster.
Demarai Gray – 7
He worked hard on the right hand side, but the creativity from his game was missing. Missed a very good opportunity in the second half which he should have scored from close range. He attempted a shot from distance but couldn’t hit the target.
Anthony Gordon – 7
He produced a superb dummy in the first half and looked lively once again. In the second half, he made some good runs but the end product was missing from his game.
Substitute
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (on for Demarai Gray, 76′ min) – NA
Allan (on for Delph, 80′ min) – NA
