Tottenham in hot pursuit of three Everton stars, Anthony Gordon among them

Tottenham are in the hunt to sign Everton trio Richarlison, Anthony Gordon and Ben Godfrey this summer, according to The Telegraph.

The newspaper reports on their website that Spurs want to freshen up their squad in the upcoming transfer window and have eyed up Gordon, 21, and Godfrey, 24, as two homegrown talents they’d like to sign.

It is understood that 25-year-old Richarlison is also wanted by other clubs with Everton battling to avoid relegation to the Championship this season.

The Telegraph adds that there are outgoings on the cards at Tottenham this summer and one of the players named is Dutch attacker Steven Bergwijn, who could be sold or used in a swap deal.

Hands off

We’ll be gutted if we lose Richarlison and Gordon in the summer.

Jordan Pickford joins those two in easily being the three best players at Goodison Park this term with our survival hopes basically coming down to their performances.

Godfrey is a player who we all know is capable of a decent performance but we wouldn’t lose any sleep at all if he was to leave in the summer and Frank Lampard was to sign an upgrade.

However, Everton’s squad is light of options and we’d rather see players be brought in without players leaving.

Unfortunately, the club’s financial circumstances mean that it’ll be tough to sign players without selling them and it does seem as though Richarlison is someone who’ll leave.

That would be a huge blow for Evertonians.

While he has some rather understandable criticism from some quarters, the former Watford ace is still one of the most gifted players on Merseyside and it would be a massive shame for him to move on.
