Draw at Vicarage Road ‘one of the most Everton things you’ll ever see’ – Richard Buxton
Journalist Richard Buxton gave a scathing review of Everton drawing 0-0 against already relegated Watford at Vicarage Road.
Frank Lampard’s side are two points clear of the relegation zone after Leeds United’s 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea.
The Toffees have taken 11 points from a possible 15 available but that was not enough to avoid Criticism from Buxton.
Buxton tweeted after the draw: “Everton drawing a blank against an already relegated Watford, who were walking wounded, previously without a clean sheet at home all season and on an 11-game losing streak at Vicarage Road is one of the most Everton things you’ll ever see.”
Not safe yet
Despite their recent good form, the failure to beat Roy Hodgson’s side has left Lampard’s men still within touching distance of the bottom three.
Victory at the Hornets would’ve been huge in their survival chances.
There could be an argument that the Toffees merely thought turning up would get them the three points against an injury-stricken Watford side.

Luckily for Lampard, Leeds continued their poor and ill-disciplined run of form with a 3-0 defeat to Chelsea in which Dan James was sent off for the Whites.
The Toffees also have a game in hand on the Whites, knowing that a win in their coming home games will make life extremely tough for the Yorkshire side.
Everton have done well to put themselves in a good position after victories over Chelsea and Manchester United and with two games coming up at Goodison, they will need to put in a better performance than they did against Watford.
Brentford and Crystal Palace make the trip to Goodison in what will be two tough fixtures for the Toffees to contend with.
