Frank Lampard shares injury update on Everton midfielder Fabian Delph

Everton midfielder Fabian Delph has picked up yet another injury.

The Toffees midfielder was taken off towards the end of the second half, with Allan replacing him.

The match ended in a frustrating 0-0 draw, but the injury to Delph has come as a big blow to the club.

Frank Lampard has shared that he doesn’t know the extent of the injury as yet, but hinted that he will be a big miss.

“He is a good player. Great lad. Trains well. Experienced. Calmness,” said Lampard to EvertonTv after the match.

“Good quality and he is a big plus. I don’t know what the injury is so we’ll have to see.

“He would be a big miss. Because you need your big players in these moments.”

Poor luck

Delph has struggled with injuries throughout his time at the club.

However, the former Manchester City midfielder has been class in recent games.

He has used his experience to good effect and brought steel and calmness in the middle of the park.

Everton’s mini-revival in the league has largely coincided with the impressive form of Delph as the Toffees moved out of the bottom three.

It seems he has picked yet another frustrating injury. He was brilliant against Watford and it remains to be seen whether he has picked up a serious injury or not.

Delph has a contract at the club till the end of the season, and chances are less whether he would be given a new deal.

He has a technically gifted midfielder who would still be a handy option in midfield. His injury record is horrible and the club shouldn’t take further gamble on him in the summer.
