Newcastle United will table bid to sign Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Newcastle United “will” table a bid to sign striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin from Everton in the summer, according to The Telegraph.
The newspaper reports that it remains to be see whether the Blues will be willing to sell the 25-year-old England international but the Magpies are set to make an offer for him regardless.
It is understood that Newcastle are also expected to sign Reims forward Hugo Ekitike despite already having Callum Wilson and Chris Wood on their books.

Bold move
Everton will have to think long and hard about whether they want to sell Calvert-Lewin.
He’s barely played this season due to injuries and when he has played, he has looked a shell of the striker he was for Carlo Ancelotti last term.
In all competitions this season, the ex-Sheffield United man has played just 15 times and only scored three goals.
And when he has played, whether or not it’s down to his lack of match fitness, he hasn’t been good enough and he’s even been left on the bench twice in the last three Premier League games.

It says a lot that Salomon Rondon has actually been more effective than Calvert-Lewin since Frank Lampard took charge at Goodison Park.
Due to that, if Newcastle do table a really big bid for Calvert-Lewin, we wouldn’t be too amazed if Everton to cash in because they need the money and they do have arguably a better option to spearhead the attack in Richarlison.
Calvert-Lewin needs to start getting his head down and putting in the hard work because he has a lot of critics due to his interest in fashion.
While we have no issue with players having interests and hobbies away from the sport, you can see why at times the fans have become disgruntled with the so-called star striker.
Newcastle fans are not exactly a forgiving bunch so he might have a hard time there if he replicates this season in black and white stripes.
