View: Everton have great squad unity after what outcast duo did v Watford
Sky Sports journalist Ben Grounds has shared the “great team unity” at Everton after Ben Godfrey and Andros Townsend’s brilliant actions against Watford.
The Blues were held to a 0-0 draw against Roy Hodgson’s side but it was the actions of the out of favour duo that caught people’s attention.
Despite not being involved in the matchday squad, the Toffees duo still travelled with the squad to Vicarage Road which is great to see considering to mood around the camp this season.
Typically, players take the opportunity to rest when not involved in the squad, especially on away days – and there aren’t many further than Hertfordshire for the Merseysiders.
Lampard has done a terrific job in getting everyone in the squad on board – even the players who aren’t playing.
Grounds said on Twitter: “Andros Townsend and Ben Godfrey have both travelled south again despite not being in the matchday squad.

It is far from over but the last few weeks suggest that Everton will remain in the Premier League come to the end of the season – bar any catastrophise.
Lampard’s side has defied all odds, laughing in the face of their extremely tough run of fixtures by beating Manchester United and Chelsea at Goodison Park which helped them claw their way out of the relegation zone.
More importantly, they have taken a massive step in fixing this season’s disgraceful away form.
Four points in their last two away games is huge and the fact they came away from the game against the Hornets disappointed having not won the game shows you how far the former Chelsea boss has brought this side.
As it stands, Leeds looks to be down and out with Jesse Marsch facing a catalogue of problems at Elland Road but as the Toffees have proven, a lot can change in a short period of time so the Blues need to fight right until the end.
