Fabian Delph out injured - Predicted Everton XI vs Brentford

Everton will host Brentford in the Premier League knowing a win could secure their safety, but they’ll have to do it without Fabian Delph.

Delph has been excellent since returning from injury, but manager Frank Lampard revealed he will miss the game with a fresh problem giving the manager a headache in midfield.

The Toffees need to claim all three points to give themselves the best possible chance of survival, and after good recent form they will be gutted to lose such an important player.

In goal Jordan Pickford will want to continue his outstanding recent form once again as he looks to claim a third clean sheet in four games for the blues.

Seamus Coleman has adapted to his new role as the third centre-back in a back five brilliantly and should continue there once again. Michael Keane and Mason Holgate have drummed up a good partnership recently and with Yerry Mina out and Ben Godfrey not 100% fit that’s unlikely to be broken up.

Vitalii Mykolenko continues to show why the club spent big money on him in January with a string of solid performances at left-back, while Alex Iwobi continues to excel under the manager even when asked to play out of position. The Nigerian should continue as a right wing back, using his energy to get up and down the pitch.

Abdoulaye Doucoure’s legs and energy in midfield have been a big reason for the good defensive performances recently, but with no Delph Lampard must make a decision on his partner.

Donny Van de Beek could feature but after so long out he is likely to start on the bench at best. Dele Alli is yet to start since his January arrival, so that means it’ll likely be Brazilian Allan getting the nod as he looks to make up for his shocker at Anfield a few weeks ago.

In attack it’s all about work ethic and pace, and academy man Anthony Gordon will continue on the right hand side after a brilliant breakthrough season so far.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been fit enough to start on the bench in recent games and Lampard could be tempted to bring him in from the start to boost their goal threat.

But with the team performing well, Demarai Gray would be disappointed to find himself dropped from the side so expect him to continue with Richarlison leading the line through the middle.

Predicted Everton XI vs Brentford: Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Holgate; Iwobi, Doucoure, Allan, Mykolenko; Gordon, Richarlison, Gray.
