Crystal Palace to stay in secret hotel to avoid Everton fireworks

Patrick Vieira will take his Crystal Palace side to a secret hotel away from Merseyside before their game away at Everton on Thursday (19 May).

According to the Daily Mail, the Eagles are keen to avoid being woken up in the middle of the night by fireworks which is what has happened to both Chelsea and Brentford in the Toffees’ last two home games.

Everton supporters are claimed to be finding out where teams are staying and setting off the fireworks in an attempt to disrupt the opposition players’ sleep and give their side an advantage the following day.

Palace chiefs are going to keep their hotel whereabouts quiet on Wednesday and stay outside of Liverpool before travelling in on the Thursday for that evening’s game.

Chelsea were troubled by the noise, losing 1-0 the next day but Thomas Frank’s Bees went on to win 3-2 on Sunday (15 May).

Too far

The support Everton fans have given to their side in the last few weeks has been nothing short of remarkable and the atmosphere in and around Goodison Park is almost unmatched in the entire country right now.

But doing things like this isn’t really on nor is it particularly legal which will be a big sticking point for the club and it is no surprise to see Palace taking matters into their own hands.

It wouldn’t be much of a shock either if those fans who keep doing this act find out where they are staying and do it any way but we have to hope it doesn’t occur.

Frank Lampard’s side is more than good enough to win this game and secure their Premier League survival as it is so they don’t need these moronic people to act in such a way.

Stick to cheering from the stands and welcoming the team coach to the ground in a wave of blue smoke and use actually meaningful actions to help your side beat the drop.
