Sky Sports pundit warns Everton not to sell Jordan Pickford to Tottenham or Newcastle United
We’re delighted to welcome former Everton striker Kevin Campbell as our exclusive columnist. Each week the former Toffees captain will be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Goodison Park…
Kevin Campbell has warned Everton manager Frank Lampard that he must not sell goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as it would be a “bad move for the club”.
It was reported on talkSPORT earlier this month that the Toffees boss was “contemplating cashing in” on the England number one amid interest from Tottenham and Newcastle.
Amid a fairly dismal season the teams stars have been regularly tipped for summer exits, with Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin frequently linked with other teams, but as the club have given themselves a chance for Premier League survival Sky Sports pundit Campbell wants Pickford kept above anyone else.

“I think you keep him,” he said, speaking exclusively to Goodison News.
“When you have a top goalkeeper, England’s number one. you keep him, you don’t sell him.
“For me it would be a bad move by the club.
“Can you get another goalkeeper in? Of course you can, but when you’ve got England’s number one in your net the key is then to protect him, so he doesn’t have to keep pulling you out of the fire.
“Of the others [Richarlison/Calvert-Lewin] I understand there might have to be some moving and shaking going on in order to bring people in to plug some of the gaps.
“But you don’t change the goalkeeper.”

After some of the performances that the 28-year-old has put in to turn the relegation battle in the club’s favour it would surely be extremely unpopular to let Pickford go.
He isn’t perfect but no keeper is immune to mistakes, and finding a quality player to go in goal is harder than most positions.
He has proven himself to be just that, and fans would be doubly aggrieved to see him perform for a Premier League rivla.
In other Everton news, Piers Morgan hit out at one Toffee as the “dumbest” in world football for what he did at the weekend.
