Paul Brown slams Everton owner Farhad Moshiri for lack of support amid relegation crisis

Daily Star journalist Paul Brown has slammed Everton chief Farhad Moshiri for his lack of support during the club’s relegation crisis.

The Blues currently sit 16th in the Premier League, two points above the drop zone but can guarantee safety with a win against Crystal Palace on Thursday night [May 19].

With the Toffees not speaking publicly since Rafa Benitez was at the realm, Brown has fired at the 67-year-old.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “The only comments I’ve heard from Moshiri have been about how football swings from good to bad and he said we’re not in danger, basically, while Rafa was still there.

“It would be nice to hear from him, but his silence speaks volumes.”

Shocking.

What do you expect from one of – if not – the worst owners in world football.

That might sound a little bit harsh considering the amount of money he has pumped into the club including a brand new stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock but they wouldn’t be anywhere near the mess they are in without him.

Money doesn’t always guarantee success and having the arrogance to blindly throw money at a project does not make you a good owner – it makes you stupid.

It is laughable to think Moshiri didn’t think that Everton were in trouble under Benitez – all of the warning signs were there but he chose to ignore them.

It isn’t just Brown who has noticed the owners’ silence, the fans have as well.

They are sick and tired of his disgraceful tenure at the club and this fiasco should be the final straw for him.

He will undoubtedly be spared another chance when the Toffees do survive relegation but he better not come out and give it the big talk when that inevitably happens after being silent for months.

The supporters need to hold him accountable for the mess the club is in – you get the feeling Frank Lampard is his last chance to make things right.
