Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s form and injury record puts potential Newcastle move on hold – report
Newcastle are exploring other striker options after having concerns over Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s form and injury record, according to the Daily Mail.
It was first reported by The Telegraph [12 May], that Newcastle were readying a bid for the England international.
Despite Calvert-Lewins representatives watching Newcastle’s home game with Liverpool after talks, it seems Eddie Howe is willing to explore other options this summer as he continues his revolution.

Everton in a strong position
Everton are in a strong position when it comes to Calvert-Lewin with the striker contracted to the Toffees until 2025.
Lampard’s side will either receive a sizeable fee for the striker or give him plenty of time to refind his special early season form from last season.
This summer could see a big turnover in players at Goodison and Lampard may want to cash in on the striker to raise some funds.
Whatever the outcome of the Calvert-Lewin saga, it will almost certainly suit both parties.

A move away from Goodison could benefit the striker, having struggled to find form this season.
Sometimes a new environment and manager can kickstart a player into finding some form.
Calvert-Lewin has all the attributes to be a top Premier League striker and is unique because he possesses physicality and a good turn of pace.
It wouldn’t be a shock to see Newcastle revisit the Calvert-Lewin situation later in the window.
