Everton set for major £11million windfall in prize money – report
Everton are set for £11million in prize money following their 16th place finish in the Premier League this season, as shared by the Liverpool Echo.
Frank Lampard’s side suffered a heavy 5-1 loss to Arsenal on the last day of the season after securing their top-flight status against Crystal Palace in their penultimate game of the campaign.
Had they won at the Emirates, they could have climbed up to 15th in the table with Southampton losing 4-1 to Leicester City on the final day.

That would have seen the Toffees’ prize kitty rise to £13.2million.
Half of the revenue gained from TV deals is divided equally amongst all 20 clubs, which saw each team earn around £84m last season.
A quarter is used as prize money with the remaining quarter being calculated according to several factors, for example, how often a team has appeared on TV that season.
Boost.
This news will be music to Lampard’s ears as he looks to mould this Everton squad to his image in the summer transfer market.
There is no denying that this group of players needs a lot of attention to get it up to the level it really should be at.

Farhad Moshiri will need to throw a lot more money at his project but more importantly, the deadwood needs to be cut from the squad.
However, they need to be smart with their money and learn from previous mistakes.
The Blues can’t afford to sign any more washed-up players with egos far bigger than anything they can contribute to the team.
Every signing needs to have a specific purpose and role within the squad and not just be brought in for the sake of it.
It will be interesting to see how limited they are amid their FFP concerns but either way, this needs to be the turning point for the Merseysiders.
