Everton working ‘hard’ to sign James Tarkowski in coming weeks – report
Everton are working “hard” to secure Burnley defender James Tarkowski’s signature ahead of a summer move, according to reports by 90min.
The Englishman will be available as a free agent at the end of June following the expiration of his Turf Moor contract.
The Clarets’ relegation from the Premier League on Sunday [May 22] has only increased the likelihood of him at the end of the season.

Newcastle are “keen” on bringing the England international to St James’ Park next season in order to boost their defensive ranks.
The report also states that Leicester City will go head-to-head with the Toffees for the centre-back with the race for him set to “hot up” in the coming weeks.
Stopgap.
This is by no means a glamourous signing that is going to take Everton to the next level but it is a very necessary one.
Everyone involved with the Toffees needs to understand that transforming this club is going to take time and more importantly, a lot of effort.

You can’t just buy success which Farhad Moshiri has learnt the hard way with a catalogue of superstar signings for ridiculous money landing the Blues in the mess they are in currently.
Frank Lampard needs players with heart and desire that is going to fight for the badge that they are wearing and there aren’t much better than Tarkowski at doing that.
This club needs to build from the ground up essentially and start at the basics again.
At 29, the Burnley defender isn’t going to have a long and illustrious career at Goodison Park but he will settle the club down and restore balance for them to eventually bring in a long-term star.
This would be a very smart move by the Toffees if they can get it over the line.
