View: Everton ace Richarlison humiliates himself with social media jibes

Everton forward Richarlison has embarrassed himself with a series of controversial social media posts since earning Premier League safety.

The Brazil international has been a stalwart in Frank Lampard’s side since the boss took over in January and was undoubtedly the spearhead in keeping the Blues in the league.

He has notched 16 goal involvements in all competitions – the highest of any Toffees player.

After heavy criticism from former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher, the 25-year-old swiped back at the Sky Sports pundit which the fans found very amusing.

He said on Twitter: “@Carra23 wash your mouth before you talk about me and everton and I don’t respect you”

He then made the decision to mock Liverpool after just missing out on winning the title by one point to Manchester City with another tweet that has gone down well with the Blues’ supporters.

Carried away.

To swipe back at a pundit is fair enough – Carragher has relentlessly criticised the Everton attacker since the Merseyside derby and he is only human.

The let out of emotions after securing Premier League safety isn’t a bad thing and something I’m sure everyone would like to see more of from players – it is entertaining.

Poking fun at rivals is also funny but it needs to be in the right circumstance. Of course, the fans will love it but from a professional perspective, this is quite humiliating.

Everton are in no position to laugh at the Reds for not winning the title after the season they have had – staying in the league by the skin of their teeth having spent so much money.

There is a lot of work to be done at the club and their energy will be much better spent focussing on themselves rather than their rivals who are pushing for a treble.

It is hilarious for the fans but most of the professionals in the game will be cringing looking at his jibe.
